At some point all relationships are faced with unexpected challenges or feelings of being stuck. Many couples find themselves in situations without knowing how they got there or how to change. What looks like individual differences and unsolvable conflicts are not necessarily a sign of incompatibility. This is where I can help you work through your differences and move your relationship forward.
What do people bring to therapy?
The issues that couples bring to therapy are many and varied.
Separation and divorce seem like our only option.
I’m afraid that being honest will hurt my partner’s feelings.
We don't talk.
My trust has been broken.
We have different sexual desires.
My partner has controlling and manipulating behaviours
We are more like friends than lovers.
We have different goals, beliefs and values.
The family is at the heart of our problems.
Not all issues are solved by holding the relationship together. When working through your problems staying together might be the right decision and that’s what you can work towards, however, if you decide to break up then therapy can help you to separate with dignity and minimise the hurt.
