Couples Counselling PDF Print E-mail

It is not unusual for relationships to enter phases of conflict or stress and often the issues are sorted out and relationships progress or returns to its normal state.

Sometimes issues cannot be resolved easily especially when they include difficulties such as repetitive arguments; feelings of distance or emptiness; persistent feelings of anger, resentment and/or dissatisfaction; lack of interest; affection or physical connection to one another.

My work with couples helps partners who are stuck in patterns of conflict to finds ways of communicating with each other, to decide how to solve their problems and to achieve their goals.

Do we come together or alone?

Ideally, you attend therapy together: it's hard to build a team if only half the players are there. Often, when one person makes the decision to give therapy a try, their partner will decide to go too.

If your partner flatly refuses to join you, there are lots of things that one-to-one therapy can help you sort out on your own. There may be changes you can make alone that will have a positive impact on your relationship.
