You will always be in control of the costs by agreeing the maximum number of sessions you are willing to fund; usually the number of employer funded appointments is limited to 8 x 1 hour sessions. Exceptional circumstances may require additional sessions, if this is the case employees may self fund or you may choose to fund more sessions. The hourly rate is £80 which will be invoiced after the employee has completed his/her counselling.
Life Designs is committed to delivering a quality service and works within the UKCP’s Code of Ethics and Professional Occupational Standards.
Confidentiality is at the core of this service. Life Designs will maintain appropriate confidentiality and respect for the employee with the following exceptions: extenuating circumstances that require the employer to be informed or included; disclosure of abuse and/or neglect of children and/or vulnerable adults; disclosure by the employee that their life or the life of another person is in danger. Any break in confidentiality will be discussed with the employee and the appropriate services contacted. Access to records will be denied unless a release form has been signed by the employee or a court order issued.
In some circumstances, an employee may be advised by management to seek assistance due to job performance or behavioural issues. This may raise concerns for those who believe the service may place the employer’s interests above their health and well-being. In this instance we have a joint responsibility to take action and reassure the employee that this is a positive step towards the development and retention of the employee.
Accessing the Service
Self or management referral can be made by telephone or email. All enquires will be assessed to ensure that this service is appropriate for the employee’s presented issue. Where presented issues are not supported you will be advised of alternative sources of help.
Counselling and psychotherapy can be accessed by telephone, Skype or face-to-face appointments at 82 King Street, Manchester, M2 4WQ.
Face-to-Face: From experience therapy works best when people come to the office. Clients report that during the journey to and from their appointment they have time and space to reflect on previous appointments and focus on the next. The added bonus, clients (on average) spend less time in therapy.
Skype or Telephone: That’s not to say that Skype or telephone counselling is not effective, it is. Telephone counselling is ideal for people who travel for their job or live a long way from the office and want to overcome their issues and problems with me.
Appointments are available Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 9.00am and 7.00pm.
